Paul & Sue

Senior Pastors, Eastside

Paul and Sue are primarily based in and responsible for pastoring our Eastside congregation. In their spare time, Paul enjoys surfing, sailing and skateboarding and Sue enjoys gardening. They have ten wonderful grandchildren who keep them very busy!


Calvin Purton

Associate Pastor, Eastside

Calvin is a passionate Bible teacher and loves helping people find their destiny and purpose in life. In his spare time, he enjoys renovating houses and eating Japanese food.

Ariel Stanley

C3 Kids Key Leader, Eastside

Ariel oversees the kids programme at our Eastside location as well as running our Primal Kids outreach and Yr 7-8 youth programme for all 3 locations. Ariel is studying at Laidlaw Bible College.

Luke Watson

Youth Pastor, Eastside

Luke is primarily responsible for the oversight of the youth of Eastside C3. Luke is one of the best skaters in the city and is passionate about the Word of God. Over the years he has flaunted some ‘interesting’ hairstyles, including the Mohawk, the Mullet, and the Monk-cut.

South City


Steve & Dawn Burgess

Senior Pastors, South City

Steve and Dawn are primarily based in and responsible for pastoring our South City congregation. Together, they are parents to Sacha, Lucy and Wesley. They are passionate about the Word, hospitality and sport (well, Steve anyway). 

Karin de Keijzer

Associate Pastor, South City

Prior to joining our staff team, Karin spent 29 years on the mission field in Western Europe and Central Asia. Karin has a passion to see people moving in their giftings and becoming all God has purposed and planned for them to be. In her spare time, Karin enjoys visiting art galleries and museums, reading, gardening and saving money (it’s the Dutch in her).

Jesse Herschell

Pastor, South City

Jesse looks after our Young Adults at South City. He  also studies at Laidlaw Bible College and his ideal day is sitting down with a coffee and an open Bible discussing the truth of the Bible. 


Julia Burnett

Pastor, South City

Julia's main focus is pastoral care - particularly for women. Her love for people overflows as she enjoys journeying with them throughout all stages of life. Julia is married to Paul and together they have four adult childen. She loves a good coffee as well as gardening and reading.

St Martins


Warren & Ginia Gouman

Senior Pastors, St Martins

Warren and Ginia are primarily based in and responsible for pastoring our St Martins congregation. They have three amazing children and enjoy spending time with friends, camping, skiing and watersports.

Jonty King

Associate Pastor, St Martins

Jonty loves seeing people grow in their relationship with God--from no knowledge of Him to a committed follower of Him. Jonty is married to Joanna and together they have two beautiful girls - Zoe and Hannah. He enjoys playing basketball and reading.

Ken & Sunny Shibusawa

Senior Pastors, Japanese Christian Fellowship

Ken & Sunny are passionate about training up young leaders to serve both here in New Zealand and back in Japan. Since leaving Japan in 1996, they have spent time ministering in the Philippines, Australia, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu! Nobody has ever seen Ken wearing shoes.

Eleanor Croker

Children & Families Pastor, All Locations

Eleanor is a trained primary school teacher and has also served on the mission field in Kenya along with her husband, Mark. Together, they have three children and the whole family enjoys spending as much time by the water as possible--preferably in it! 

Lisa McMillan

Church Manager, All Locations

Lisa keeps us all in line, managing the day to day running of our church and inspiring us to keep healthy and fit! When she's not rounding up the troops, you'll find her out running in the Port Hills or competing at multi-sport events around the South Island.

Rachel McConnachie

Worship Pastor, All Locations

Rachel studied Music and Communications at the University of Canterbury before coming on staff at C3 Church. She is married to Stephen and is passionate about leading our church into a greater awareness of the presence of God through worship.
